" />Just up the road from Burleigh Heads and across a small headland known as ‘North Burleigh Headland’ is the village of Miami Beach on the Gold Coast, Queensland. With clean, wide sandy beaches, the fantastic Gold Coast surf and excellent picnic and barbeque areas, is it any wonder this is a popular choice for family holidays.
Along the foreshore of the long stretch of beach there are a couple of interesting sculptures:
The beachside pathway which is extremely popular with cyclists, joggers and walkers runs from North Burleigh Headland to Nobby Beach.
On the southern side of North Burleigh Headland is North Burleigh Surf Lifesaving Club which is a great place to sit and relax and have a drink or meal with gorgeous views like these:
The parks along the foreshore are very popular for fitness groups and personal trainers.
You can enjoy a coffee and tasty cafe-style food at Piccolo’s Cafe on the Esplanade at Miami Beach.
Miami Beach is one of the less populated beaches on the Gold Coast and boasts a safe patrolled area which is ideal for a swim or surf.
Miami Beach has a range of accommodation options such as the Caravan Park, Holiday Units, Holiday Houses and Hotels. There is a shopping centre nearby with a Coles Supermarket, the Miami Tavern and various eateries. Also nearby are Tennis Courts for hire and the Pizzey Park Olympic Swimming Pool complex.
It really is the quintessential family holiday spot on the Gold Coast that has it all. So next time you are coming to the Gold Coast for a holiday make sure you check it out.

April 2, 2015Hi Kathy,
I don’t think I’ve been to the Gold Coast version of Miami Beach! Though I have been to the one in Miami :) It looks gorgeous though. We are blessed with our beautiful coastline here in Queensland.

April 2, 2015We are very blessed Annabel. Australia’s version of Miami Beach is a great place for families to spend their holidays as it is a less inhabited beach. Thank you for dropping by my blog :)

April 3, 2015Being an ex-Gold Coaster I love seeing stuff like this. I holiday down there with my daughter each year and we have ridden bikes up and down that very pathway. There’s something about the Gold Coast, in particular the southern end that just speaks to me. Even though I was born in Melbourne I consider the Gold Coast my home. How excited am I then that my wife (Pinky) and I are moving there to live at the end of this year! I’m also visiting in June then we are both coming down for ProBlogger in August so I have heaps to look forward to.
Loved your pics, especially the one of the cafe, there is something about it that just screams awesome.

April 3, 2015The oceanways along the Gold Coast foreshore are the best for cycling or walking. I think that is one of my favourite past-times here on the GC. Plus I also do like to indulge in a frothy cappuccino at one of the many trendy coffee shops dotting the coastline! Piccolos is one of my faves. And you are right – the southern end of the Gold Coast is very special.
I am also attending Problogger this year so I will look forward to seeing you and Pinky :)

April 3, 2015Whilst I don’t think I’ll be doing any cycling along those paths I’ll definitely be going for quite a few walks. Beautiful!

April 3, 2015If it would stop raining here I would be walking those paths right now! There are some great oceanways alongside the beaches here on the Gold Coast. I will have to introduce you to them! :)

April 4, 2015Hi Kathy, I say that the Miami Beach in your backyard looks more beautiful and relaxing than the Miami Beach in Florida:) I especially love the first photo; it looks so inviting. I’d love to live in your backyard.

April 4, 2015Oh my goodness, after seeing your spectacular Antartica photos Miami Beach pales in significance! I haven’t been to Miami Beach Florida, but I am going to New Orleans next week and embarking on my first cruise ever to Mexico and the Caribbean. I think I’m pretty lucky having such a beautiful backyard! :)

April 4, 2015I’ve always been a bit surprised how few people (by Gold Coast standards) hang out at Miami Beach!! But that’s OK by me – it’s somewhere to hang out without the crowds! Beautiful pix, Kathy!

April 5, 2015I think it is a little less known place on the Gold Coast and we locals would probably like to keep it that way! These pictures were only taken with my iPhone but turned out ok. :)
