Amongst my group of friends, who are mainly in the over 60s age group, there is a lot of talk about retirement. After turning the milestone age of 60 I am beginning to question when is the right time for retirement?
I spent last weekend sauntering around having a sticky beak at a couple of expos that were at complete opposite ends of the spectrum. At one end was the Gold Coast Caravan & Camping Expo and at the other was the Gold Coast Travel Expo making it a weekend of expos!
Do you ever fantasise about taking a luxury getaway to a five star resort or hotel in an exotic location on a tropical island or somewhere equally as enticing? For some of us it is just that – a dream or fantasy. However I am here to tell you that your pipedream of lapping up a luxury holiday can now be reality.
Well it happened! I turned 60 around ten days ago and believe it or not nothing unpleasant occurred in the process! I didn’t suddenly gain more wrinkles, have to purchase a walker or a hearing aid, nor did I wake up with any new aches and pains.
So in keeping with the romantic spirit of Valentine’s Day, I have come up with 7 ideas for getting romantic and not just on Valentine’s Day.
My definition of creating memories is firstly experiencing the moment, enjoying it and capturing it so that is lives on forever. Most people do this by taking photos or videos of the event or experience.
I have to finally accept that my fabulous fifties are over and I’m going to be sixty. OMG did I really say that out loud!!
Make 2017 your best year yet. Slowdown and enjoy your life. Learn to enjoy the simple blessings that we have all been given.
This year has flown by and I can now say “see ya 2016” and look forward to the new year ahead.
Although we still embrace traditions such as Christmas Carolling, putting up Christmas Trees and cooking roast turkey and baked ham, we have started to make a few changes and are celebrating Christmas Aussie style.
